The Sky is Faling

Sometimes I am amazed at the lack of common sense in our society. We believe everything we see on TV, read in the newspapers, or get off the Internet. Today I am talking about the Swine Flu. Now don't get me wrong, if you want to go get this shot, or any other shot, by all means go for it! Personally I am not interested in trusting my body to modern chemistry, especially on the recommendation of our government (none of their business).

Before writing this I checked on the CBC News site for some statistics. As of July 21st 2009 there had been approximately 700 deaths from H1N1. This figure is worldwide. Let's assume that this stat had gone up 100 times in the last 4 months, this would make 7000 deaths. The population of the earth is approximately 6,706,993,152, so your odds of catching and dying from this are .00010. This is as close as my calculator will go. Your odds of heart disease and cancer are far greater. Let's not forget car accidents.

The drug companies and lobbyist as making some big money here. These shots aren't free, we all pay from them. But that is not the point I am trying to make. I don't care how much money these people make, more power to them. What concerns me is the general population's lack of thinking for themselves. We are being manipulated by the media and the government, as they try to protect us from ourselves.

Someone posted somewhere about this virus killing healthy 18 years old's. With the number above that is not very many healthy 18 year old's. How many has drug abuse killed? All I am saying here people is that the sky is not falling and the H1N1 is not going to wipe out the planet contrary to what any official may say. The choice is 100% yours, just make the choice using common sense and not in fear!
